There is an old adage which quite rightly says, health is wealth. A sound mind and body are the greatest and only real tools with which we can explore life. If you don't have a fit and healthy body, you can feel limited and bound by it.

Today, there is a rise in lifestyle related disorders such as Diabetes, Obesity, coronary conditions, and mental conditions such as Dementia and Alzheimer's. It is ironic that these should be the fall-out of modern society, when modern society is expected to enhance the quality of human life.

It is important in these times to take care of our own health concentrating on overall fitness and well being. It can be difficult to motivate oneself to take the necessary action towards this, but as healthcare speakers and motivators will tell you, there are ways to work up the will.

Medical science has certainly evolved and things today are very different from the way they were before, but we still haven't found all the answers. We still have no cures and explanation for a variety of ailments of the human body.

Unfortunately, the real value of good health is often realised only after we lose it. Good health should never be taken for granted. Prevention and leading a healthy lifestyle are the two cornerstones of long term healthcare.
